Yumi Torimaru is a founder/ director of Takohachi. Takohachi has been introducing Japanese culture through music since its inception in 2007. She has another name, ‘Kotori Oyama’ given from one of the biggest Tsugaru Shamisen association, OyamaKai. Also she has won awards from the Internet Shinobue (bamboo flute) contest in 2018 and 2019. 

On 2/2 at Kenton Library, Kotori will have a special guest, Eri Muroi. Eri has graduated from a renowned school, Tokyo University of Arts, and is a certified master Koto and Shamisen player. 

Yumi and Eri will collaborate to introduce several different Japanese instruments (Wagakki) to the community with Yumi and Eri originality.
