Takohachi at the Fountain District Activation – Sunday Parkways

Takohachi Taiko Drummers are proud to join the Halprin Landscape Conservancy’s Fountain District Activation, bringing taiko’s power and spirit to one of Portland’s most iconic public spaces. Throughout Sunday Parkways, Lovejoy Fountain Park and Pettygrove Park come alive with music, movement, art, and community engagement — inviting visitors to explore and experience Lawrence Halprin’s landscape as a place of connection and discovery.

Takohachi Performances

Catch our featured taiko sets at: 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM at Lovejoy Fountain Park!

These performances create dynamic gathering moments during the busiest hours of Sunday Parkways, introducing audiences to the energy and tradition of Japanese taiko. If the weather permits, we’ll also share a few bon odori songs and invite everyone to dance with us.

Visitors can also enjoy performances and activities throughout the district, including dance, live music, educational experiences, family activities, and community outreach — all working together to transform the Fountain District into a vibrant celebration of culture and public space.
